Well here it is, my finished soup. I had to take the pictures with my ipad at work because I forgot to leave it at home for my daughter to take them. I'm really not sure if it's finished yet. I like it but it's pretty simple. I was a bit afraid of taking away from the beauty of the focal. I used the enameled wire to do the wrapped loop and the small enameled beads for the fringe. I have a bunch more to use but I may be posting more in a while:)
Thanks again to my partner Lynne Bowland, see what she's made with the beads I've sent her here.

And visit the rest of the blogs, the list is here it should be great fun.
The style is simple but effective...you really notice the focal.

Looks great! Hope you had fun with your first bead soup!
ReplyDeleteNice job with the focal! Love how you kept it simple and the fringe and chain!
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely! Lynne's beads are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSimple and yet its so pretty! I love the focal!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely focal to have received in your soup. :)
ReplyDeletea very pretty necklace!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the focal is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful soup you made my friend, your work is truly stunning!! Thanks for sharing & all I can say is yummmmmy!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfectly simple - I think that is my favorite Lynne-style bead - it looks great with copper.
ReplyDeleteLovely, simple and elegant. We're all being pushed outside our comfort zones -- with amazing results!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the hop,

Excellent! It is great as is but I'm sure it will look equally as wonderful if you add to it. You have a great touch.
ReplyDeletevery pretty!
ReplyDeletevery nice focal
ReplyDeleteI really like this, the size of the chain works so well w/ the bead. & of course, you can't go wrong w/ such a fab green bead;) (as for your comment on mine, I will probably wear it off center per the second shot of the necklace)
ReplyDeleteI love the blue and copper together and that focal, STUNNING. Beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, simple design! Very elegant. Great work!
ReplyDeleteLove the simplicity of this piece! The dangles really accent that lovely focal, and you are right, too much would've been well, too much!
ReplyDeleteI am SO sorry for being late — today our internet provider decided to crash. My stress level is through the roof, to say the least! They’re still working on it, but it’s like dial-up.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the best things are simple. You chose a great chain, and the bead is gorgeous. Just look at my piece and you'll see an exercise in "ummm...." as most people are politely dancing around the "yeah, I think you're right, it needs to be redone". WHICH I WOULD RATHER THEY SAY than not be honest about their feelings, really. I just am still stuck.
And knowing you, this is just your style!
I hope you enjoyed yourself, and I hope you’ll participate again!
Love, Lori
Pretty necklace!
ReplyDeleteNicely done and a sweet way to draw the eye to the focal :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful focal pendant! Pretty necklace!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job w/the focal!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bead Lynne sent you and you did a perfect job complimenting it.
ReplyDeleteVery attractive! Good job with that beautiful focal!
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job! Your necklace is elegant and beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a very wearable piece of jewelry. What I would consider great vacation jewelry, it goes with most anything and it is simply wonderful. Nice job.

Very nice love the focal such a pretty colour!
ReplyDeleteLove it - I think you made the right choice in keeping it simple, the focal speaks for itself. However, I'm pleased you added the dangles, it adds depth to the whole piece.
ReplyDeleteI love simplicity in my own personal designs. Clean, simple lines sometimes showcase an art bead you love. I adore the simplicity of your design and definitely would be something I would wear. Love it!
ReplyDeleteReally nice finished piece Ann! Love that focal with the dangles. Very pretty!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I'm all about simple design, and this one is just terrific!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty necklace! Keeping it simple allows you to really focus on the focal and the copper helps really accent it as well. Great design!
ReplyDeleteThe simplicity makes this piece stunning!
ReplyDeletesimple can be elegant!! The fringe is very nicely done. It is a beautiful piece. It will be a joy to wear!
ReplyDeleteAlice's Beads and Baubles
Simple and classy! Great job.
ReplyDeleteThe focal is such a huge statement that I think you did right by keeping the necklace simple with the chain. Good job.
ReplyDeleteI think you framed the focal brilliantly!
ReplyDeletelovely work! Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteTruly a case where less is more. Lovely simplicity.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet kudos to my soup.
Nice, you have set off the focal beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI like simple and wearable so it's very well done.
ReplyDeleteElegant and simple, love the tassle. What a gorgeous focal.
ReplyDeletesimple elegance! I say don't change a thing!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely, sometimes simple is just fine!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful looking piece.
ReplyDelete~cryssT
So dainty and simple. I really like it. And the fringe at the bottom of the focal is a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteCopper and blue so perfect together. Your picture came out just fine
ReplyDeleteThere is beauty in keeping it simple, specially with such a gorgeous bead. You have made a beautiful necklace.
ReplyDeleteI agree, simple is better with a beautiful focal. Well done.
ReplyDeleteYou know, when it's simple like this, it's more likely to be worn on a regular basis which i think does the focal the most justice, it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful focal and the dangles add just the right amount of movement to it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll think of several different things to try to change about this necklace but truthfully, I'd be afraid of doing too much... the simplicity of it with just the dangles beneath it, really makes it work. You could try alternative ideas or sizes for the chain itself, but as far as beads go, I'd just leave it :) The easiest way for you to decide is for you to wear it and keep stealing glances in the mirror to decide what you like or don't like :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bead. I love that you've showed it off to best advantage here. Great stuff. ;-)
ReplyDeleteNever be afraid of simple when you do it clean and smart - like you did. The chain complements the focal well. Nice!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful focal you got to work with - I can see why you would want to keep it simple - to let that piece shine! Nice work!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful Job!
ReplyDeleteI think your simple treatment displays Lynne's focal best - and the dangles add a little movement for extra interest - very cool!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely piece. I love the simplicity of it-- it really lets the focal shine!
ReplyDeleteI really like the simplicity of it. The focal is really awesome
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely treatment of that beautiful focal - pretty, pretty, pretty!
ReplyDeleteHave to agree with most of the other commenters..I think the "simple" approach works best here with that focal. I love your necklace!
ReplyDeleteAnother simple piece that lets the focal speak for itself :) Sometimes this is just the best! This focal is beautiful, it doesn't need any frame or support, and you have been wise enough to see it. Pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful focal for which you have created a wonderful necklace.
ReplyDeleteYou showed off that gorgeous focal perfectly !!!
ReplyDeleteGreat Soup!
m.e. :)
Great job showcasing that beautiful focal! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful focal you had to create with. I love the simple lines you came up with. Lovey necklace and welcome to blogging!
ReplyDeleteThat focal is so detailed and pretty by itself I think you did just the right thing with just the trio of dangles and chain. Very nice soup.
ReplyDeleteGood instinct - it really is a lovely focal! What are you going to do with the rest of your stash?
ReplyDeleteSimple, but it shows the focal off so well! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful! I love the lampwork bead & the tassels are perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog - I was a late poster!
:-)
i had the same "problem". My focal was so pretty on itself that doing anything to it was just the way of ruin it.
ReplyDelete@jennifer (can I do that on a blog?). I'm pretty sure the other focal and the other enameled beads will become bracelets. I need to get some more substantial bronze or copper wire though, at least for the enameled ones. I think I can go back to my comforavle silver for the other focal:)
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of this piece. Sometimes, a little is all that is needed! I like the size of the chain with the focal too. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThe simplicity of your design really allows that gorgeous focal to shine!
ReplyDeleteSimple and sweet with nice dangle complements.
ReplyDeletelove the way you used your focal and the danglies hanging from them!
ReplyDeleteSimple can be hard to do, especially in a challenge like this one. You did a really excellent job highlighting your focal just enough. Smile! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSimple but very lovely!
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of the necklace. You don't always have to have something that has stuff teeming through it to be beautiful. Simple. Is. Good. In this case, great!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful necklace...and the focal bead is amazing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful simplicity, that's what appeals to me. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteSimple and gorgeous! That focal is just delicious! I love the dangles beneath :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous focal! I would wear this all the time :-)
ReplyDeletewonderful, that copper fits with the focal!!!

ReplyDeleteAmbra
What a beautiful focal you had to work with! I love Lynne's beads. It will be fun to wear.
ReplyDeleteYour necklace has all the components of what I refer to as the perfect necklace: chain, beautiful focal bead, and a dangly bead cluster. I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove your bead soup piece. I, too, had a beautiful focal that I thought should not be 'fancied' up too much. You did a great job with yours! Thanks for visiting my blog! Hope you enjoy your blogging adventure. I seem to visit more than I post, but I love the visiting!! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity and I really like the beaded fringe that you added to the pendant!
